The 2023 earthquake in Turkey left millions displaced, with women and children among the most vulnerable. It will take years to rebuild what was lost, with urgent needs for shelter, healthcare, and basic resources.

In Rohingya refugee communities, thousands of women are widowed due to conflict and violence in Myanmar. These widows face immense challenges as they often become the sole providers for their families, struggling to access basic necessities, healthcare, and safety within the camps.

In Sierra Leone, over 60% of women live below the poverty line, with limited access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. High rates of maternal mortality and gender-based violence further exacerbate the challenges women face, making targeted support essential for their well-being and empowerment.

A Path to Hope and Stability Empower Syrian Women and Children in Jordan

With over 655,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan, the majority of whom are women and children, there is a pressing need for support in accessing education, healthcare, and safe housing. More than 85% of these refugees live outside formal camps, often in challenging conditions. Many families struggle to afford basic necessities, and children, particularly those over the age of 12, face significant obstacles in continuing their education, with only a small fraction enrolled in secondary school​.

STRENGTHENING WOMEN IN LEBANON

Lebanon is currently facing a significant humanitarian crisis, with women and children being disproportionately affected. According to UN Women, around 1.5 million women in Lebanon are in urgent need of assistance, with many struggling to meet basic needs due to economic instability and social challenges. Women often bear the brunt of the crisis, facing barriers to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.

Addressing the Nutrition Crisis Urgent Support for Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka, the ongoing economic crisis has severely impacted the nutrition of women and children. Currently, it is estimated that around 2.3 million children are facing hunger due to skyrocketing food prices and diminished household incomes. This alarming situation means that up to 70% of families in the country are experiencing food shortages.

STAND WITH YEMEN

Yemen faces one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, significantly affecting women and children. As of early 2024, over 18.2 million people require humanitarian assistance, with 17.6 million facing food and nutrition insecurity. The situation for children is particularly dire: approximately 2.7 million children are suffering from acute malnutrition, and many are at risk of severe malnutrition, which can be life-threatening if not treated urgently​.
