In February 2023, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Syria, worsening the already dire situation for women and children. Thousands lost their homes and access to basic necessities, leaving them especially vulnerable in an ongoing humanitarian crisis

In Rohingya refugee communities, thousands of women are widowed due to conflict and violence in Myanmar. These widows face immense challenges as they often become the sole providers for their families, struggling to access basic necessities, healthcare, and safety within the camps.

With over 655,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan, the majority of whom are women and children, there is a pressing need for support in accessing education, healthcare, and safe housing. More than 85% of these refugees live outside formal camps, often in challenging conditions. Many families struggle to afford basic necessities, and children, particularly those over the age of 12, face significant obstacles in continuing their education, with only a small fraction enrolled in secondary school​.

In Sri Lanka, the ongoing economic crisis has severely impacted the nutrition of women and children. Currently, it is estimated that around 2.3 million children are facing hunger due to skyrocketing food prices and diminished household incomes. This alarming situation means that up to 70% of families in the country are experiencing food shortages.
